More recently, a new teaching tool has been introduced in the academic world to improve and facilitate student learning. The Anatomage Table (Anatomage Inc., San Jose, CA, USA) is a virtual table through which the students can observe human cadaver dissection in a 3D spatial dimension and have other uploaded teaching materials (eg case scenarios, histological slides etc) This can be considered decisive for improving anatomical knowledge, a requisite for safe and competent medical practice. The first table was purchased by Faculty of Medicine, University of Baticalloe and a product launch was organized by technomedics at Grand Bell Hotel , Colombo 3. Dr.Mrs.S.Udhayakumar – Senior Lecturer and Head / Department of Anatomy and Mr S Sathiyaseelan, and Mr. P. Saravanapavananthan – Staff Technical Officers participated in the event on invitation.
