Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna has conducted northern Provinces’ extensive community survey, which lasted from February 2020 to April 2023, included 10,000 permanent residents to collect participant data such as demographics, socioeconomic profiles, health histories, and AF symptoms. Validated questionnaires were used to assess modifiable lifestyle risk factors, as well as laboratorial-based evaluations such as physical measurements and bio sample collections for clinical parameters and novel cardiovascular biomarkers. Participants and their families received ongoing support and guidance from a dedicated helpline. This comprehensive approach promises to provide valuable insights into the health and well-being of Northern Provinces residents, assisting in the development of future healthcare initiatives and interventions in the region.
