Promoting Gardening Practices and Healthy Food Habits in Schools in the Jaffna Municipal Council Area

This field activity aimed to promote school gardening and spread awareness about the benefits of physical activity and healthy food habits among students of selected schools in the Jaffna Municipal Council area.

In the first phase, students visited the schools, met the principals and responsible teachers to plan the programme. Meals were provided to the students during the initial visits. In the next phase, the programme was conducted on three separate days in each school. Leaflets containing information about the activity and the benefits of and tips on school gardening were also distributed. In the third phase, the three schools were visited to assess progress and provide feedback.
