Promoting Occupational Health among Sanitary Workers at the Jaffna Municipal Council

This programme targeted the health of sanitary workers at the Jaffna Municipal Council. With permission, students first conducted direct surveillance of sanitary workers, recording their daily tasks via video in the Jaffna Municipal Council area. They developed a comprehensive checklist under the guidance of experts, and evaluated the efficacy of existing sanitary measures. In addition, the students prepared guidelines and leaflets, respectively, for supervisors and sanitary workers.  Lastly, the students developed presentations, videos and banners for use at a seminar on occupational health for sanitary workers held at the Jaffna Municipal Council.
