Welfare Society of the Facuty of Medicine (WSFoM)

The Welfare Society of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna (WSFoM) is a dedicated organization established to promote and enhance the welfare of all academic, administrative, non-academic, and academic support staff of the Faculty of Medicine. Founded in 2025, the Society functions under a formally adopted constitution with a well-defined governance structure, ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and accountability. WSFoM serves as a unifying platform that fosters solidarity, mutual support, and collaboration among staff, reflecting our collective commitment to well-being, harmony, and professional growth within the faculty.

Goal

The primary goal of WSFoM is to foster a positive, supportive, and thriving working environment within the Faculty of Medicine. Specifically, the Society aims to:

  • Enhance the overall well-being and morale of its members
  • Provide financial and emotional support during significant life events such as marriage, bereavement, illness, and retirement
  • Promote professional development, collaboration, and a healthy work–life balance
  • Strengthen relationships between staff and faculty administration through open dialogue and joint initiatives
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and positive reputation of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna
