Stakeholder Meetings

First Local Stakeholder Meeting

The First National Stakeholder Meeting of the NIHR Global Health Research Project on Violence Against Women and Girls was held on 25 September 2025 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna. The meeting engaged key stakeholders to discuss the establishment of survivor panels and to gather inputs to guide a survivor-centred and ethical project approach.

First National Stakeholder Meeting

The Second National Stakeholder Meeting of the Global NIHR Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Project was held on 15 December 2025 at Hotel Renuka, Colombo. The meeting brought together key stakeholders from academia, civil society, and service sectors to reflect on progress and to provide strategic and ethical inputs to strengthen survivor-centred approaches, particularly in relation to the establishment of Survivor Panels and sensitization of stakeholders. The discussions offered valuable guidance that will inform the next phase of project implementation.

Stakeholder Meeting Jaffna

As part of the ongoing research activities under the Global NIHR Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) project, a Stakeholder Focus Group Discussion was conducted on 19 June 2026 at the Board Room, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, to gather stakeholder perspectives on survivor engagement in research. The discussion generated valuable insights into pathways for identifying potential survivors, barriers and facilitators influencing participation, and key safeguarding considerations required for ethical and trauma-informed engagement. The findings will contribute to the development of Survivor Panels in Sri Lanka and inform the design of strategies that promote meaningful, inclusive, and sustainable survivor involvement in research.
