Family – Centered Care (FCC) in the Context of Subfertility
This collaborative workshop, organized by the Jaffna Medical Association in partnership with the DIGIPATHS project team and PDHS – Northern Province, and Jaffna Medical Faculty Overseas Alumni – Australia, aims to enhance the knowledge and competencies of primary care doctors in managing multiple long-term comorbidities. This two-hour program will deepen clinical understanding and improve the practical application of evidence-based approaches for managing complex chronic conditions, specifically depression associated with subfertility in primary care settings.
As part of the DIGIPATHS Study’s capacity-building program, a workshop titled “The Power of Narrative Writing” was conducted on 27 May 2026 at the Conference Hall, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna. The session was facilitated by Dr. Shane Halpe (MBBS, MD Family Medicine, MRCGP [INT]), Lecturer in Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Moratuwa.
The workshop emphasized the importance of narrative writing in clinical practice, research, and healthcare communication. Participants explored how meaningful stories and personal experiences can enhance patient-centered care, strengthen reflective practice, and improve the communication of research findings and clinical insights.
