The “Injury Prevention Week – 2015 “ was jointly organized by the Department of Community & Family Medicine, and the Ministry of Health Northern Province of Sri Lanka with the support of the medical students from 34th batch of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna to empower school students on injury prevention related to Road Traffic
Accidents [RTA] in Northern Province Sri Lanka from 2nd to 8th of March 2015 at Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna in the all 5 districts in Northern Province. Health promotion regarding Injury Prevention related to RTA, improve the skills on First Aid and management skills on RTA, developing resource centers in schools, mass media education and maintaining database and continuous activities were carried out during the week in schools.
