Over the decade, the intake of medical students was raised and there is a necessity of a portal to provide a safe and supportive learning environment, as the workload of medical curriculum is immense, students are from different socio-economic backgrounds and the majority of them are far away from their home towns. As a consequence, Well-being Centre was established and inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, University of Jaffna on 14th March 2022. Blunted approach with cascade effects was adapted as the methodology, which consists of three major concepts such as resource management, integration and participatory action. Effective resource management was executed by using the underutilized physical space, resources and mobilized the available staff within the faculty and the infrastructure was established. After that, programs such as Personal Professional Development Stream (PPDS), Mentoring and Family Medicine Clinical Appointment were integrated. Finally, these things make the students actively participate. In future, the Wellbeing Centre will mainly focus on students’ well-being, mentoring activities, career guidance and soft skills development and it will actively involve all the students in centre management as well.
