8th Undergraduate Research Symposium 2025

The Faculty of Medicine’s annual Undergraduate Research Symposium is a key initiative dedicated to fostering research skills among undergraduate students.

The 8th Undergraduate Research Symposium took place on March 7, 2025, at the Hoover Auditorium, Faculty of Medicine, featuring 37 abstracts presented by undergraduate medical students. This event serves as a platform for students to showcase their research, demonstrating the rigorous training and dedication they have undertaken during their studies. The theme for this year, “Today’s Research for Tomorrow’s Care,” highlights the university’s commitment to advancing knowledge and shaping future healthcare professionals.

Prof. R. Surenthirakumaran, Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffn and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, extended sincere appreciation to the Faculty of Medicine staff for their efforts in organizing this significant event.

The symposium was honored to welcome Professor H. M. Senanayake, Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, as the keynote speaker.

This symposium provides students with a valuable opportunity to engage in academic discussions, network with peers, and expand their research perspectives. Student researchers are encouraged to make the most of this experience, connect with fellow scholars, and be inspired to pursue future research endeavors.
