Stakeholder Meeting on the Development of a Survivor Panel – Jaffna District

A stakeholder meeting was conducted on 4th August 2026, from 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., at the District Management Skills Development Training Centre, with Women Development Officers and Counsellors to discuss the recruitment of survivors for the development of a Survivor Panel under Work Package 1 (WP1) of the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Project.

During the meeting, Dr. P. A. Dinesh Coonghe discussed the development of a diverse and representative Survivor Panel in the Jaffna District, highlighting the importance of ensuring meaningful representation of survivors with diverse experiences and backgrounds.

Women Development Officers and Counsellors from divisional secretariats across the Jaffna District participated in the meeting and shared their valuable perspectives on engaging survivors and facilitating their participation in the panel.

The meeting strengthened collaboration between the research team and frontline stakeholders and marked an important step towards establishing a safe, inclusive, and representative Survivor Panel, enabling survivors’ voices and lived experiences to meaningfully contribute to the VAWG Project.
