A meeting with Clin. Prof. Umapathi N. Thirugnanam, Senior Consultant Neurologist, Department of Neurology, National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore, and Singapore National Eye Centre, was held on 9 January 2026 at 9.30 a.m. at the Board Room, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna.
Prof. R. Surenthirakumar, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, academic staff from several departments, and research team of the Centre for Digital Epidemiology (CoDE) participated in the discussion.
Prof. Thirugnanam encouraged student exchange programmes and expressed interest in future research collaborations, as well as knowledge-sharing and practical training activities based on real clinical case scenarios for staff and students.
The meeting marked a positive step toward strengthening international collaboration in neurology, clinical training, research, and capacity building.
