Celebrating Academic Excellence and Gratitude

The Faculty of Medicine is proud to announce the official release of three landmark books authored by Professor Sittampalam Rajendra, specifically designed for medical students and postgraduate trainees. The books were officially launched at the Faculty Board Meeting by the Dean, marking a significant contribution to our academic resources.

A New Standard for Integrated Learning

In alignment with the institution’s commitment to integrated medical education, these books bridge the gap between basic sciences and clinical surgery.

This structured approach allows students to utilize these resources throughout their journey from Phase 1 through Phase 3 of the curriculum. These books provide a vital roadmap for students navigating complex surgical concepts. This follows the success of his previous work, Short and Long Cases in Clinical Surgery, which remains a high-demand resource across medical faculties in Sri Lanka.

A Tribute to Excellence

Demonstrating his deep gratitude and connection to his roots, Professor Rajendra has dedicated these works to his own undergraduate teachers: Professor S.V. Parameswaran, Professor M. Sivasooriya and Professor K. Balasubramanium.

This gesture stands as a profound testament to his gratitude and the enduring bond between teacher and student within the medical profession.

As a true “Son of the Jaffna Medical Faculty,” Professor Rajendra’s latest contribution stands as a milestone in our educational history, ensuring our students are equipped with the depth of knowledge required for modern surgical practice.
