A Meeting was held on 11th August 2023 (Friday) at the District Secretariat, Jaffna. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the implemented Cycling Initiative in St. John’s College and Chundikuli Girls’ College school surroundings.
Key stakeholders (Jaffna District Secretariat, Jaffna Municipal Council, Road Development Authority, Urban Development Authority, Jaffna Police Station, St. John’s College School) participated in this meeting
According to the survey results, and findings, this initiative has been accepted and welcomed by the school community.
Meeting with Jaffna District Secretariat, Jaffna Municipal Council, Urban Development Authority, Road Development Authority, Divisional Secretariat, Police Station-Jaffna, School principal (St. John’s College), and NGO’s Partners to promote safe cycling practices around the school surroundings as a part of WHO- Jaffna Healthy City Project.

A pilot survey was conducted to promote cycling activity in St. John’s College and Chundikuli Girls’ College school surroundings. support was provided by Jaffna District Secretariat, Jaffna Municipal Council, Road Development Authority, Urban Development Authority, Save a Life, Jaffna Police Station, St. John’s College School , Chundikuli Girls’ College school.

The second phase of the cycling initiation meeting was conducted in the Jaffna District Secretariat on 15th May 2023 with the participation of Jaffna District Secretariat, Jaffna Municipal Council, Road Development Authority, Urban Development Authority, Jaffna Divisional Secretariat, Chundikuli Girls’ College, St. Johns’ College, and police offices.
