Prof. Nalini Sathiakumar, School of Public Health, University of Alabama Birmingham and Prof. Diana Lea Baronovich, University of Malaya, visited DCFM in January. Meetings were held at Teaching Hospital Jaffna and DCFM to discuss potential research collaboration in the following areas:
a) establishment of a trauma registry at Teaching Hospital Jaffna,
b) assessment of adolescent mental health;
c) development of biomarkers for early detection of chronic kidney diseases. A field visit was conducted in
the University Field Project area. The dayended with atalkbyProf.Baranovichonadolescentmentalhealth, organized by the Jaffna Science Association and held at the Seminar Room, DCFM.
