The Kidney Stone Book Launching Ceremony was held on the 16th of September 2023, at the Hoover Auditorium, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna.
This event marked the official release of the book titled “Kidney Stones” A Comprehensive Guide to Treatment and Consultation,” authored by Dr. B. Balagobi, Senior Lecturer, Consultant Urological Surgeon, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Dr. Bramma R. Thangarajah, senior Lecturer, Specialist Nephrologist, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine.
This book provides an overview of the kidneys and kidney stones. It delves into the fundamental aspects of the kidneys, explores the intricacies of kidney stones, and covers various critical aspects related to this condition.
Furthermore, it provides detailed explanations of diagnostic procedures, treatment options and the importance of seeking medical consultation.
This book was reviewed by Dr. S. Kumaran, Senior lecturer, Department of Community and Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and launched by Dr. V. Sujanitha, Head and Senior Lecturer, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Dr. S. Gobishangar, Head and Senior Lecturer, Consultant Surgeon, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine.
The Initial copy was presented to Prof. S. Srisatkunarajah, Vice Chancellor, University of Jaffna. Special copies were graciously extended to Prof. R.
