A tree planting event was conducted at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, on 17th of May 2024 to celebrate the farewell of Dr. Yathushan, Demonstrator, Family Health Centre, Department of Community and Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine. The event was organized by the Family Health Centre, Faculty of Medicine. Beneficial plants were planted in both the Family Health Centre and the garden area of the Students’ Wellbeing Centre. The event was led by Miss V. Nishanthini, highlighting a collaborative effort to honor Dr. Yathushan and promote environmental sustainability.
Dr. S. Kumaran, Consultant Family Physician and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Community and Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, along with Dr. Y.M.D.W. Kotugodella, Senior Registrar in Family Medicine, Dr.S.M.Halpe, Registrar in Family Medicine, Dr. S.S. Withana Registrar in Family Medicine, Dr.V.Yathushan, and Mr. N.Thuvarakan, Demonstrators at the Family Health Centre participated in the tree planting event. Demonstrators from the Students’ Wellbeing Centre also joined the initiative.
