“I had a very good experience during my placement and felt very well looked after by everyone, including the consultants, doctors, registrars, nurses, social workers, the demonstrators, and everyone on the team. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to experience a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient wards and the rehabilitation centres.
I really enjoyed visiting the different sites and learning from the MDT. It was especially valuable to attend meetings and observe the work of different professionals, such as the social workers and charities involved. This gave me a much broader understanding of how the team works together in long term care planning.
The ECT experience was particularly valuable, coming from Europe I would not normally have the opportunity to observe this treatment. I also really enjoyed the lectures with the final year medical students, which were really engaging and interactive.
I consider, the main area for improvement would be communication regarding the daily schedule. Weekly schedule was clear. At times, it was unclear when the day would finish, and the timings varied.
Overall, I was very content and enjoyed my three weeks with the team, and thank you for adapting my elective experience to also aid my ethics project.”
