On April 30, 2024, the Community-Led Cancer Prevention Programme held a virtual meeting to discuss the progress and findings of its feasibility study. The meeting was attended by key participants including Prof. Thavam Thambipillai, Dr. Sujanthi Rajaram, Prof. R. Surenthirakumaran, Dr. B. Balagobi, Dr.S.Kumaran and other distinguished experts and stakeholders from various medical disciplines such as surgery, community and family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, and program coordination. Key discussions included the benefits of community engagement, logistical challenges, and the innovative use of technology for data collection. The team explored strategies for expanding the program’s reach and enhancing participant engagement through educational and interactive methods. The meeting emphasized the importance of collaboration and detailed planning for the program’s future expansion. Insights and feedback gathered during this meeting will be integral in refining our approach to cancer prevention and early detection in Northern Sri Lanka.
