An Injury Prevention Awareness Workshop was conducted on the 25th of September 2024 by the 44th batch of medical students of Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna for students from St. John’s College, St. Patrick’s College, and Central College. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the common types of injuries that can occur during school sports activities and to equip students with practical knowledge on how to prevent them. By addressing key aspects such as proper warm-up routines, safe playing techniques, and the importance of using protective gear, the session sought to minimize the risks of injury during physical activities. The medical students also provided guidance on first-aid measures to be taken in case of an injury. The initiative was part of a broader effort to promote safety and well-being among schoolchildren involved in sports.
